Château Coutet 2024: 94-96/100
The 2024 Coutet was picked over six tries although the final ones were not used with 134 g/l residual sugar this year. It has quite an intense bouquet with beautifully defined lemon thyme and light peach aromas. The palate is well balanced with a vivacious opening, lively apricot and quince notes and concentration effortlessly offset by the silver thread of acidity. Composed and persistent on the finish, this is a superb Coutet.

Cuvée Opalie de Château Coutet: 91-93/100
The 2024 Opalie, matured in 20% to 25% new oak around 10% going through malolactic conversion, has a well-defined bouquet with dew-dappled green apple and citrus scents opening the glass. The palate is where the action is, with fresh orange zest and Japanese yuzu on the entry. Its cutting acidity lends tension with ample weight and length toward the harmonious and lingering finish. This is excellent.
