The Wine Doctor – Bordeaux 2014: Sauternes & Barsac

31 March 2017

Château Coutet 2014 – 18/20

An impressive nose, showing more breadth and depth of fruit than some of its peers in Barsac, with dried pineapple, dried yellow peach and a little sweet mango too. The palate is broad, supple, sweet and plush in terms of texture, with vibrant and bright acidity underpinning it all. The finish is simply loaded with pithy grip and substance, energy and freshness, and shows a cutting mineral and acid freshness. This is simply super stuff.
