Château Coutet 2025: 94-96/100
A dense and smoky style of fruit on the nose, with waxed orange, sweet apricot, mint and crushed minerals, with a wonderful aromatic confidence, as well as a mineral suggestion that seems to tie it convincingly to Barsac. The palate develops a sweet and forward core of orange, peach, yellow plum and sandalwood flavours, with a waxy edge to the fruit, tinged with mint and sorrel. This has a fresh but defined style, mineral with acid cut, and it is a delightful young Barsac clearly brimming with potential, combining sweet density from the botrytis with a fresh and mineral style. Fabulous. Tasted twice.
